Eastman Lake raises some camping fees

Fees for individual campsites at Eastman Lake’s Codorniz campground have increased $2. Rates for standard non-electric sites increased from $14 to $16. Sites with electric and water hook-ups are up $20 to $22 and sites with electric, water, and sewer hook-ups are now $24. All other camping and day use fees at Eastman remain unchanged.

The park is currently upgrading 20 Codorniz campsites with 50 amp electric service, expected to be available for use by early summer.

Eastman Lake is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District. It's nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills surrounded by grasslands and blue oaks, 23 miles northeast of Chowchilla. At maximum capacity, the lake has 1,780 surface acres and holds 150,000 acre feet of water. The lake was created by the construction of Buchanan Dam on the Chowchilla River.

The Corp of Engineers is the nation’s largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, hosting more than 350 million visitors per year at more than 400 lakes and river projects.
