Shoot real live (undead) Zombies from a California train

Inspired by the popular TV series "The Walking Dead," a tourist train in Northern California is now selling tickets for its one-of-a-kind Zombie trains, where the "Undead" attack the train and its passengers, only to be turned away by passengers with laser machine guns.

The idea is that the Zombies have overrun the Sacramento countryside. Those with the laser guns (which have the feel and weight of regular machine guns) must rid the area of the creatures to protect a serum that will save civilization.

The train begins its first 14-mile journey on March 28, 2014. Fare for the rail trip is $35 or $50 for passengers who want to be part of the Zombie Train Militia so they can pick off the disfigured, blood-thirsty creatures along the route with laser machine guns.

The two-hour journey aboard the Sacramento River Train in Yolo County (near Sacramento), spends its first 75 minutes traveling through a post-apocalyptic, zombie theme park complete with members of the undead, followed by a 45-minute zombie-free return trip.

Unless noted otherwise, trips depart from 400 North Harbor Blvd site in West Sacramento. Learn more or buy tickets here.
